ShcherbinaViktorya V. Poetry of Yurgis Baltrushaitis.

The object is the lyrics of Baltrushaitis. The aim is the detailed analysis of artistic principles of Yurgis Baltrushaitis' poetry in the context of the Russian symbolism poetry in late XIX - early XX century. The methods are: complete, mytho-poetical, motive, comparative, typological analysis. This dissertation is devoted to the analysis of Yurgis Baltrushaitis' poetry in view of creative activity of other symbolists. The observation of Baltrushaitis' lyrics proves its philosophical character. The gigantic images, common cosmic motives and peculiarities of representation of nature show the connection between Baltrushaitis' creativity and the works of F. Tyutchev. The research has proved that the biblical images form the foundation of image structure in the artistic world of Baltrushaitis' poetry. The peculiarities of personality conception in Baltrushaitis' creativity is also taken into consideration in the dissertation. The research reveals the main sound phenomena used in the poetry of Baltrushaitis. The analysis of such phenomena shows the specific poetic atmosphere of poet's works. To sum up we may say that the researched materials can be used for deeper analysis of the development of literature in late XIX - early XX century. Application sphere is the training courses.
