Agafonovа A. The Role of Political Parties of the Centrist Direction in the Creation of a Democratic Party System in Ukraine.

In the dissertation, made a comprehensive analysis of centre parties in the formation of a democratic party system has been conducted. The system of criteria for identifying political parties on the "left-right" scale has been suggested. The analysis of the centrist parties in the formation of party systems in Europe has been conducted. Stages of development of centre parties in Ukraine have been suggested. A politological analysis of party programmes of centrist parliamentary parties has been conducted and their ideological affiliation has been determined. It has been proved that the modern social base of the studied parties is only formed based upon the middle class. The latest influence factors of centre parties on the formation of effective and democratic party system have been examined, and namely: principles of activity of deputy fractions, development of inter-party relations, role of party leadership, etc. In this work, prospects of further development of centrist political parties, have been substantialized.
