Maiboroda N. Linguistic personality of D. Yavornitsky.

The object is the language of artistic works and epistolary texts of D. Yavornitsky. The aim is to determinate and researching the specific of shows of linguistic personality of D. Yavornitsky in artistic works and epistolary texts. The methods are descriptive, historical-philological, functionally stylistic, comparatively-comparable. The thesis offers the scientific content of the concept "linguistic personality" as the object of the linguistic research. The reasonability of studying linguistic and personal characteristics of D. I. Yavornitsky in the context of Ukrainian linguistic-and-literary process of the second half of the 19th century - the beginning of the 20th century has been grounded. Extra- and intralinguistic factors of the formation of D. I. Yavornitsky as a linguistic personality have been determined. His points of view on the development and functioning of the Ukrainian language have been lightened. D. Yavornitsky's linguistic personality has been thoroughly investigated as a unity of outlook and language categories. Linguistic means of different levels (such as lexico-phraseological peculiarities, tropes, words-notions) of fiction and epistolary texts have been examined. The peculiarity of the writer's linguistic personality which shows the traditions of ethnographism has been pointed out. Application sphere is the training courses.
