Object is complex conjunctive sentences with explanative meaning; aim is to find out essence of explanative meaning and examine the peculiarities of its expression in complex conjunctive sentences; methods are descriptive, comparative, transformation, statistical; novelty - for the first time in Ukrainian linguistics the system description of the complex conjunctive sentences with explanative meaning is made, the spectrum of semantic modifications of explanative meaning is outlined, semantic-syntactical properties of joined constructions with explanative meaning are investigated; results can be used at writing of textbooks and manuals on grammar of modern Ukrainian, reading of course of lectures on the syntax of Ukrainian, special courses and special seminars in grammatical semantics and theory of complex sentences.
