The changes of carbohydrate, water-electrolyte metabolism and renal function in white rats were studied at the model of the initial stages of diabetes. The possibilities of correction of the revealed changes by mineral waters at animals during 14 days were studied. It was shown that under the influence of alloxan in small doses tolerance to glucose was changed at the background of normal blood glucose level on empty stomach. The water-electrolyte balance changes in ani-mals, that is manifested by potassium- and sodiumuresis with the concomitant decrease of these electrolytes levels in blood and redistribution of them in tissues. Disorder of the renal functional state is manifested by primary urine hyperfiltration that leads to increase of daily diuresis and urine alkalosis. It was shown that application during 2 weeks of mineral waters had prophylactic and medical effect on changes of carbohydrate and water-electrolyte metabolisms and renal disorders in rats. Usefulness of mineral waters drinking is grounded for humans with changed glucose tolerance, because mineral waters usage prevents further development of diabetes. The original model of alloxan intoxication which corresponds with the tolerance to glucose change for humans is proposed and can be used during the study of the correcting influence of other medicinals.
