Motrychenko V. State enterprise in the system of market relations

The dissertation touches upon the problems of the state enterprise functioning in the system of market relations. Within the limits of the paper we analyzed the evolution of scholarly viewpoints on the economic essence of the enterprise in general and the state enterprise with its functions and specific features in particular. The study undertaken proves that the amount of state enterprises functioning in the transition economy countries depends on the chosen transition model. While analyzing international experience of state enterprises operating we have singled out institutional factors influencing their extension. It has been proved that state enterprises of developed countries tend to remain in strategic fields and natural monopolies. Having studied peculiarities of the reformation of state enterprises in Ukraine we found out the prevalence of the private property forms.
