Zinchuk R. Word Modification of Nouns in Western Polissyan Dialects

The dissertation presents a systematized description of nounal word modification in Western Polissyan dialects and traces the specificity of substantive formations in the areal aspect. The employment of the basically new approach towards the analysis of dialectic phenomena and its validity confirmation on the ample factual material with the emphasis on the positional peculiarities of the word forms has enabled us to identify the modified types of nouns and point out the factors which condition the dialectic differences in the researched formative system. That also has allowed us to outline the bounderies of the Western Polissyan dialect, as well as to indicate its internal segmentation.
