The subject is a book "The Alphabet Gathered and Arranged with the Rhyme…" of Archbishop Joan Maksymovych. The aim is to analyze the sources, genre and thematical peculiarities of book "The Alphabet…" of Archbishop Joan Maksymovych as a phenomenon of Ukrainian baroque hagiography. The research methods are descriptive, comparative-historical, cultural-historical, contextual; textological, typological analysis. The results and novelty: for the first time the complex study of book "The Alphabet..." of Archbishop Joan Maksymovych is accomplished in context of Ukrainian baroque hagiography. The field of application: university courses of history of Ukrainian literature of the ХVІІ-ХVІІІ-th сenturies.
