Essay

The subject of inquiry is plays by I. D. Surguchev - "The Trading House" (1912), "Autumn Violins" (1914), "The Rivers of Babylon" (1921). The aim is to determine the specific character of the I. D. Surguchev's dramatic art. The research methods are integrated, motive, intertextual, psychological and quantitative analysis of the dramaturgic creation. The results and novelty: for the first time the dramatic production by I. D. Surguchev has become the subject of inquiry with the point of view its poetics and problematics. The field of application: the courses of history of Russian literature and dramatic art of the XX-th century.
