The objectives are to analyze the complex genre specifics in I. Goncharov's novel Oblomov as integrity of different genres' components and to identify its role and influence over Russian novel development in the XIXth century.Methods applied: typological, comparative-historical, and structural-semiotic.For the first time ambivalent static/dynamic nature of the genre and style synthesis in Goncharov's Oblomov is studied, the style influence over ethological genre forms synthesis in the novel is examined, the parabolic code in the genres' synthesis and its mythopoetic and folklore roots in the novel are identified, the role of the novelistic genre is described as unifying of different genres in Goncharov's Oblomov.Can be applied in the higher education.
