Dissertation is devoted to the scientific rationale of the hygienic approaches to the establishment of the proportions of sanitary-and-hygienic zones for the enterprises of low capacity (ELC) and improvement of standing sanitary classification of the enterprises and practices. On the basis of the fulfilled complex research, including sanitary-and-hygienic analysis of the building designs of the ELCs, field investigations of the impact of these objects on the ambient air pollution, dissemination of the smells and on acoustic situation, questioning of the population about the impact of the ELCs on the conditions of population's residing, mathematic modeling of the dissemination of the pollutants in ambient air and noise from the enterprises, depending on their capacity, the main regularities of the unfavourable impact of the ELCs of various industrial branches (food, wood-working, сonstruction, metal-working) on the state of the environment and the conditions of the population's residing in the neaby habitable building have been determined; the criteria for the reference of the enterprises to the ELCs by the proportion of their end manufacture capacity and by the level of the environmental effect have been determined; the hygienic approaches to the establishment of sanitary-and-protective zones (SPZs) of the ELCs have been elaborated and standard proportions of the SPZs for the studied enterprises with the determination of the limits of their maximum capacity have been substantiated. Hygienic recommendations for the improvements of the standard base of sanitary legislation for the fulfillment of the preventive state sanitary inspection by the establishments of state sanitary-and-epidemiological service have been elaborated and introduced.
