Khivrych O. Perfection of technological processes of growing fodder beet

A thesis for obtaining the scientific degree of Candidate of agricultural sciences іn speciality 06.01.09 - plant industry. - The Institute for Sugar Beet of the UAAS, Kyiv, 2010. In the thesis, the results of investigations carried out in 2005-2008 of technological processes of growing fodder beet were presented. Their effects on morphological parameters and plant productivity were shown. A complex of primary factors which determine productivity level of fodder beet was established. Morphological parameters of fodder beet, their productivity depending on time of seed sawing, methods of presowing soil cultivation, density of planting, methods of stand care were studied in details. These indexes were compared among varieties and hybrids. Optimization of technological elements and perfection of technological processes of growing fodder beet were proposed. The results of the investigations were used as a basis for working out the national standard of Ukraine (NSTU) "Fodder beet. Harvesting. Indexes of quality and methods of their determining".
