Okuneva O. Optimization of providing respiratory support in newborns with low body weight

The goal of this work is improve the results of treatment of newborns with low body weight who need mechanical ventilation. Data of 157 newborns with respiratory support were analyzed. A strategy of respiratory therapy to newborns with low body weight was systematized and elaborated in order to shift the baby quicker to spontaneous breathing. The offering scheme permits to decrease duration of mechanical ventilation, diminish the risk of complications. The subject of studying also was the peculiarities of conducting of respiratory support in newborns with low body weight with using of substituting surfactant therapy with different term of introducing. Predictors of prolonged mechanical ventilation were elaborate.
