Essay

The objects are the youth organizations in modern Ukraine. The aim is to reveal the tendency of institutional development, features of functioning, tendencies and a specific character of transformation of the youth organizations as components of civil society in modern Ukraine. The methods are historical, structurally functional, system, institutional, problem-chronological, general-civilization, comparative approaches; behaviorist, content-analysis, factor-analysis, analogies and modelling. The major theoretical and methodological approaches of foreign and domestic political science to the study of youth organizations are classified. Theoretical content of the terms "youth organization" and "institutional development" is formulated. Elucidated the specificity of interaction of government and youth organizations, which depends heavily on cooperation and implementation by youth organizations and governmental institutions, their roles in ensuring rights and needs of society. Clarified the impact of youth organizations in Ukraine's political process. Analyzed the functions, types and characteristics of youth organizations. Investigated the specificity and development's trends of youth organizations in modern Ukraine and identified strength and weakness of the activities of youth organizations. Proved that youth organizations play an important role in the formation of civil society. Application spheres are formation of the state and local youth policy and training courses.
