This dissertation focuses on the methodological principles of the formation of cognitive independence of 7 - 9 grades pupils in the process of teaching geometry within the educational standard in Mathematics and Computer Science. The argumentation is done on the basis of: using modern ICT in the process of seeking different ways of proving mathematical statements; combining independent and group forms of teaching; using pedagogical program means for selfcontrol; organizing the system of laboratory-and-practical tasks in Geometry for 7 - 9 grades pupils and methods of their conducting with the help of the computer.
