Zdikhovska T. The Phraseology of Ukrainian Prose of the First Half of the XX-ieth Century (Based on the Works of U. Samchuk and B. Lepkyy)

The dissertation includes functional and semantic and stylistic analysis of the phraseological units found in the prose of B. Lepkyy and U. Samchuk. The semantic groups of common language phraseological units are distinguished and analyzed in the work together with explanation of specifics of functioning of these fixed collocations in the art works. The "phraseological portraits" of characters are provided in the thesis. Dialectal phraseological units available in the language of the works of B. Lepkyy and U. Samchuk have been distinguished and specificity thereof has been determined as well. Occasional changes of the phraseological units have been studied and the most frequently used methods of phraseological units transformation in the language of Ukrainian prose of the first half of the twentieth century have been established.
