Khymko M. Psychological peculiarities of paternal attitude to children with autism.

The dissertation for Candidate degree contains the results of theoretical and empirical study of psychological peculiarities of paternal attitude to children with autism. The research, conducted by candidate, demonstrates the paternal attitudes to various aspects of family life and family role; determines the level of social tension, stress resistance and social adaptation, emotional states, and peculiarities of the internal conflict. The thesis are focused on emotional and social difficulties of the parents of children with autism. The individually psychological and social psychological factors that negatively affect parental attitudes to child under such conditions were analyzed. The third chapter of the dissertation offers an original psycho-correctional training, aimed to prevent and reduce the manifestations of internal conflict, negative emotional feelings, changes of parent-child relationships. Such psycho-correctional assistance to parents of autistic child will help in overcoming intra-personal problems, will reveal the peculiarities of parents value system; will optimize the attitude to autistic child.
