Petrosian A. Assessment of the risk for the health of population from ambient air pollution with the emissions from the enterprises of different kinds

Dissertation is devoted to the scientific substantiation of the application of the assessment of the risk for the health of population from ambient air pollution with emissions from the enterprises of different kinds for the determination of the of sizes of the admissible risks and elaboration of general system for the assessment of ambient air quality in Ukraine at the carrying out of the monitoring by the bodies of sanitary-and-epidemiologic inspection. On the grounds of the fulfilled research, including a complex of analytical, mathematical, and cartographical methods, a toxicity of the industrial emissions has been assessed; daily average inhalation doses of chemical substance intakes have been calculated separately for adults and children; risks for the health of the population from the emissions of heat power industrial, metallurgical, and mechanical engineering complex in the cities of Kyiv, Zaporizhia and Druzhkivka (the Donetsk region) respectively have been determined; a probability of the beginning of the pathological states stipulated with the effect of the prior pollutans has been estimated. It allowed to define local priorities, to assess medical-and-ecological situation in the cities, to work out a rational, scientifically substantiated approach to the priority of the fulfillment of prophylactic and nature preserving measures at the stage of risk management.
