Essay

It has been shown, that the main quantity of the coal tare, which is being produced in Ukraine, is the tare of low pyrolysis stage. On the base of a such raw material it is impossible to obtain an electrode binder pitch of high quality, using existing industrial methods. The possible ways has been studied of electrode pitch modification, leading to the accumulating of high-molecular fractions of pitch group composition. It has been chosen a heat-treatment in the presence of chemical-active additives and a heat-treatment under the high pressure. On the basis of the complex the following items had been researches was developed: the technology of pitch heat-treatment in presence of the ammonium sulfate; the sulfated anthracene fraction as the modificating additive for pitch; the research technique for estimating of the mesophasc volume content; the technology of pitch heat-treatment under high pressure, which includes the sharp fall of the pressure down to normal when electrode pitch is ready but still melted (for decreasing the content of the low-molecular components). The highly economical effectiveness of developed techniques has been proved.
