Gerasimenko K. Forensic medical examination of a polytrauma

Thesis is devoted to the research of the problem of forensic medical examination in cases of polytrauma. 20165 acts have been analysed, among them there were 435 cases with polytrauma and lethal outcomes; 136 dead persons had been treated in the in-patient department (from 5 hours to 10 days). As to the severity of shock traumas and dominant localization of a damage the materials of pre-admission medical aid of 499 miners with heavy mechanical traumas, which were accompanied by shock have been analysed. It was found out that in cases of polytrauma the death can occur on the place of an incident or after staying some time in the hospital. For the objectivity of the conclusions of the forensic medical expert it is necessary to determine the coefficient of the severity of shock which is at the same time the index of syndrome of the mutual burdening, and in the in cases of staying in the in-patient department it is necessary to determine the presence of the signs of polyorganic insufficiency and the syndrome of a fatty embolism, which relatively occur and are the direct causes of death. The results of the research are put into forensic medical examination.
