The object: the process of foreign country image formation; The aim: development of the conceptual framework for the sociological study of foreign country image formation through a set of communicative mechanisms in conditions of the global information society; Research methods: comparative analysis and synthesis, systematic and structural analysis, functional analysis, polls, content analysis, expert judgements; Theoretical and practical results: it was provided the sociological approach to the study of the foreign country image as a sociocommunicative phenomenon, that is formed as a result of the influence of a broad range of the communicative mechanisms; it has been carried out certain specifics of communicative mechanisms for neighbouring countries image formation in perception of Ukrainian students; The novelty: a sociological concept of communicative mechanisms of foreign country image formation, taking into account the cultural, economic, foreign policy and domestic political realities of modern Ukrainian society, were developed; The level of implementation: results of the dissertation were used in elaboration and teaching of the educational courses "Sociology of Mass Communication", "Communication in Public Administration", "Public Relations".
