Mulyarchuk O. Optimisation of the elements of growing technology of late-ripening white-headed cabbage under the conditions of a southwest part of the Forest-steppe zone of Ukraine

In the thesis estimated the influence of fertilizers application and drop irrigation on the yield of three late-ripening varieties of white-headed cabbage (Kharkivska zymova, Ukrainska osin', and Yana). The rate of fertilizers was calculated using balance-sheet method. Mentioned elements of the growing technology influenced development of cabbage plants, increased leaves area, activeness of the photosynthesis, accumulation of the dry matter, and yield. The research allowed determining the most favourable conditions for white cabbage growing. To get high yield of the late-ripening varieties of white-headed cabbage (Kharkivska zymova, Ukrainska osin', and Yana) it was recommended to apply mineral fertilizers in the rate N120P80K150 and perform drip irrigation, that provides moistening of root-inhabited soil layer about 85-90 % of least water-absorbing capacity. These elements of the growing technology provided high profitability (about 187 %) and effectiveness from energy point of view.
