Yenin E. Securing of the national interests of Ukraine in the Transnistrian settlement process.

The study is devoted to the analysis of Transnistrian conflict's impact on the state of the national security of Ukraine, and also elaboration of ways to secure the national interests of Ukraine in the process of its settlement. In the thesis the author carried out analysis of modern approaches to definition of essence of a political conflict in foreign and domestic scientific thought, researched features of political conflicts on the post-Soviet space. An attempt was undertaken to analyze the basic theoretical and practical aspects of elaboration of the Ukraine's strategy in the Transnistrian settlement process. The Transnistrian conflict's origin and evolution analysis has led the author to conclusions that the conflict creates considerable risks and threats to the national security of Ukraine; the uncertainty of time prospects of the Transnistrian conflict settlement determines the necessity of working out the system of scientifically based measures on minimizing of the Ukraine's national security threats in the context of Transnistrian settlement. It is proved that the growth of Ukraine's level of influence on the development of political processes in Moldova and Transnistria will allow to speed up the Transnistrian conflict settlement, and also to advance the Ukraine's status as an active subject in the process of the European security system's formation.
