The thesis considers an important, for Political Science, problem of Islamic fundamentalism and extremism, as well as the activities of various fundamentalist organisations and movements. The author has analysed the activities of the most influential Islamic fundamentalist movements and organisations: the Society of the Muslim Brothers, the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas", and the Party of Liberation "Hizb ut-Tahrir", as well as determined the peculiarities their influence on the political process of the Middle East region. The author has also elaborated guidelines for countermeasures against illegal activities of radical and extremist organisations.
