The dissertation is devoted to the development of sustainable resource technologies for hot rolling of tool steel simple shape profiles, with taking into account the laws of change of the surface defects depth. The results of the work are used at the development of recommendations for advancing of roll grooves design for the rolling of simple shape profiles of tool steels with the purpose of decreasing the metal loss in conditions of rolling mill 550 of JSC "Dneprospetsstal" as well as at the development of devices and technologies for reducing of resource expenses on the small size profile mills of JSC "Moldavsky metallurgical plant" and of works "Huta Zaverche"
