The objects are translations of A.S. Pushkin's works on Chinese. The aim is to study the features of perception of A.S. Pushkin's personality and his works in China. The methods are comparative-historical, sociological, reception-interpretational and typological. The paper is the first to perform an integral analysis of the reception of A.S. Pushkin's personality and his works in China, which enabled the author to reveal and analyze the specific nature of individual translatory decisions, the traits of creative interpretation and theoretical perception of the poet's works. Features of the theoretical perception help establishing the proximity of certain aspects of the writer's works and the readers' demands, as well as literary, aesthetic and ideological expectations of literary critics and historians. Chinese specialists identify issues in Pushkin studies and formulate the tasks that must be performed to resolve them. Application spheres are a training courses.
