Essay

The thesis is aimed at studying in a complex manner the maritime criminal jurisdiction of states over crimes committed in internal waters and a territorial sea. A structure of the international treaty mechanism of states’ maritime criminal jurisdiction regulation is suggested. Considerable attention is paid to the concept of interdiction – a distinct form of enforced maritime criminal jurisdiction. It was determined that a special form of maritime criminal jurisdiction, i.e. "conventional", has been evolving.
