The dissertation is dedicated to examination of the professional vocabulary of cosmetics and cosmetology of the modern Ukrainian language, which is systematically organized lexical-semantic field, the center of which is common medical terms. There were traced the ways of its formation and development, it was proposed its periodization in view of the impact of linguistic and extralinguistic factors, it was also analyzed the composition of the terminological vocabulary of cosmetics and cosmetology in terms of origin and selected original layers, included in it at various stages of formation.
