The dissertation is devoted research of activity of the special authority on bankruptcy. Fundamental ideas which are fixed in basis of activity of the special authority on bankruptcy are selected, followings definitions is formulated: "bankruptcy", "insolvency", "normatively-legal adjusting of activity of the special authority on bankruptcy. In work made an analysis of the system interaction of public authorities in the field of bankruptcy. Considerable attention is spared the system of tasks of the special authority on bankruptcy and reformation of his organizational structure.
