The dissertation is devoted to investigation of the problem of formation students' civic culture by means of academic disciplines of social science cycle in the process of teaching in high school establishments. Theoretical analyses of problem of person's civic culture is carried out, modern ways of obtaining civic culture by students, peculiarities and state of formation students' civic culture in mass practice of teaching social sciences disciplines are also elucidated. The main methodological conditions of effective formation students' civic culture in the process of teaching social sciences disciplines are determined. Methodology of its formation is theoretically proved and experimentally checked. Its essence lies in bringing up changes into teaching contents, introduction of innovative forms and methods of conducting lectures with simultaneous organization of creative students activity and productive interaction of lecturer and students.
