Essay

Object – signals and images registered by radio engineering and remote sensing systems. Goal – design of robust signal and image processing methods based on adaptive estimators of distribution parameters which operate in cases of limited a priori information about signal parameters and noise statistical characteristics. Novelty – five novel adaptive estimators are designed which can evaluate location parameter with the accuracy close to the potential limit; adaptive forms of the robust DFT are obtained for the first time; two modifications of FM signal clipping based filtering method are proposed; novel approaches for noise filtering in FM signal analysis method based on Wigner-Ville distribution are designed; bispectral filtering method of radar signals is advanced; two novel edge detectors for remote sensing images are designed. Proposed methods allow solving tasks of signal and image filtering and analysis.
