The present thesis is dealing with improving the methods of diagnosis and treatment of chronic cardiac insufficiency in elderly people with a history of myocardial infarction, by way of ascertaining the role of a disturbed hemovascular hemostasis in the activation of cell apoptosis and progression of systolic dysfunction of aortic ventricle, and the possibility of correction of myocardial functional state using drugs having an antithrombotic effect. The thesis demonstrates the necessity for the use of varfarin, an indirect anticoagulant, in the therapy of patients with systolic myocardial dysfunction, in which, before the treatment started, an activation of intravascular thrombogenesis (elevated D-dimers and SFMC levels) was noted. It has been established that in patients with preserved systolic myocardial function progression of cardiac insufficiency in the presence of aspirin and carvedilol therapy, was associated with increased levels of spontaneous and induced platelet aggregation
