Essay

In this research the technology of joint non-die and die low-carbon steel rod drawing is devised, full-scale tested and introducted. The essence of this research is in replacement of the flow-line machining of the rod in the 3- roller skalebreaker and die drawing in the first die by its non-die drawing through the multiple-roll deforming machine. In the research the dependencies of mechanical, power and geometrical parameters of low-carbon steel rod non-die drawing treatment process were obtained. Application of this process instead of routine drawing allows reducing power inputs by 10…30%, almost entire rod purification from scale and operating tool resistance rise in more than 10 times. The methods of theoretical roller' angle coverage definition and calculation of deformation-force terms of drawing in the roller deforming machine have also been improved. The developed technology is introduced in industrial conditions of two hardware enterprises. This data is also used in the educational process of the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine
