The dissertation is devoted to substantiation of the theoretical and methodological principles and development of practical proposals for improving cooperation between local governments in the strategic planning of territorial development. The current state of cooperation between local governments in areas of strategic planning has been investigated and priorities in their strategic planning have been outlined. The system of evaluating the effectiveness of cooperation between local governments on strategic planning of territorial development has been suggested.
