Essay

The dissertation theoretically and experimentally researches the organization of extracurricular work in chemistry for students of secondary educational establishments on the basis of project technology. The core of project technology as well as the concepts "educational project", "problem of project", "extracurricular project activity" has been theoretically substantiated. The genesis of project-based education in domestic and foreign school practice has been analyzed; periods in its origin and development have been established. Modern approaches towards project-based instruction have been analyzed with regards of project technology introduction in the practice of secondary educational establishments as the means of providing for variant constituent in the Basic curriculum and extracurricular work of students. Various forms in the organization of students' extracurricular project activities in chemistry (among which group work has been prioritized) have been described. The essence of project-based instruction in secondary educational establishments as well as its structure and implementation in students' extracurricular work in chemistry has been revealed, the efficiency indexes and criteria have been defined.
