Object: poem 'The Song of Hiawatha", lyric poetry in the original and Ukrainian translations. Aim: to study out the features of perception of Henry Longfellow's poetic work in Ukraine, recreation of poet's style in Ukrainian-language translations, and also to conduct comparative comparison of his poem "The Song of Hiawatha" with Ukrainian masterpieces which are close to it thematically.
