Yrha K. Institution of Political Opposition: the International Experience and Specific Formation in Modern Ukraine

One presents the composite analysis of world experience and specific functioning of the institute of political opposition in modern Ukraine. One suggests the classification of functions of the political opposition for democratic political regime. The definition of "political opposition" is clarified from the point of view of application of Political Studies institutional method The analysis of the political opposition in the countries with the developed democracy is carried, which formed the basis of criteria for determining the effectiveness of the institute of political opposition. The legal and traditional bases of functioning of political opposition in Western Europe is analyzed. One has observed the influence factors of the opposition status on the peculiarities of political activity, namely: the principles of political opposition between electoral periods. Analysis of regulatory and legal support of the parliamentary political activity and extra-parliamentary opposition in Ukraine is given. Due to the absence of opposition normed principles in modern Ukraine, one proposed model of functional interaction between opposition and power system, identifies priority power of political cooperation and opposition. In the thesis the prospect of further institutionalization of political opposition in contemporary Ukraine in view of internal and external factors is proved.
