Essay

The thesis deals with the problem of finding the efficient ways of strategic competence (SC) development of senior pupils in the process of lexis and grammar learning. It theoretically grounds psychological, linguistic, didactic and methodological requisites of SC development of senior pupils in the process of lexis and grammar learning, objectively evaluates the researches of strategy and strategic competence as foreign language communicative component. The definition and content of SC have been defined. The content includes the pupils’ knowledge of their learning styles, learning strategies and language system as well as their skills of effective management of learning process. The content of the learning styles has also been defined. Metacognitive, cognitive and memory strategies have been specified . The system of exercises has been elaborated. The effectiveness of methodology of SC development and the importance of feedback for gaining better results in learning were experimentally confirmed.
