Object of research: process of development of city as a bulky system. Purpose: theoretical ground and development of practical measures on perfection of mechanism of management strategic development of modern city in Ukraine. Methods: induction, analysis and synthesis, generalizations, structurally-functional and system approaches. Results: modern means of perfection of mechanism of management strategic development of city are grounded in theory. Novelty: the mechanism of management strategic development of city and mechanism of realization of partnership in a management strategic development of cities are developed. It is inculcated in activity of public authorities of Kiev and Lugansk region. Areas of use: public administration, regional management, training and retraining of civil servants.
