Object - the process of forming general cultural competence in secondary school pupils; the aim - to find out the influence of theoretically analysed and practically checked conditions of using an integrated lesson as a means of forming general cultural competence of secondary school pupils on the efficiency of the teaching process; methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical ; novelty - the conditions of using an integrated lesson as a means of forming general cultural competence of secondary school pupils have been analysed and experimentally checked, the criteria and indices for defining the levels of general cultural competence in secondary school pupils have been singled out, the notion "general cultural competence of secondary school pupils" has been specified and is understood as an integrated personality formation acquired as a result of assimilation of the system of knowledge about the world of culture; results - the defined pedagogical conditions providing for the efficiency of an integrated lesson as a means of forming general cultural competence of secondary school pupils have been experimentally checked and may be incorporated into school practice; field - pedagogy
