The dissertation deals with the comprehensive analysis of political and legal aspects of formation and functioning of local public authorities in Transcarpathia as a part of the first Czechoslovak Republic. The stages of structural transformation of regional autonomous institutions and local administrative agencies were traced. The specific character of the organizational structure, jurisdiction, and national composition of local authorities and local governments are researched.
