Firsova N. Prevention and treatment of gestational and perinatal complications at pregnant women with iodine deficiency

This thesis is devoted to the decision of one of actual problems of obstetrics namely to decreasing of frequency of gestational and perinatal complications at women with iodine deficiency. Peculiarities of pregnancy and labour, the thyroid status and the hormonal background, hypophysial thyroid system functioning in dynamics during the gestational period, placenta functioning, a fetus and newborn states are studied in dependence of iodine deficiency degree (isolated iodine deficiency and complicated with relative hypothyroxinemia). The researches done have allowed to develop a complex of the diagnostic and treatment preventive measures, introduction of which allows at pregnant women with isolated iodine deficiency and complicated with relative hypothyroxinemia to lower risk of development: premature birth - in 7,7 and 5,2 times; preeclampsia of average and severe degree - in 5,6 and 25 times; fetus distress - in 2,5 and 7,1 times; fetal congenital malformations - in 25 times; central nervous system perinatal lesions in newborns - in 2,4 and 6,3 times.
