Perscheguba J. Hygienic assessment of chemical carcinogens' complex (aerogenic and peroral) burden by risk criterion on the population of a large city

Hygienic assessment of a complex load of the leading chemical carcinogens on the city population is presented for the first time in Ukraine. On the basis of modification of the methodology for the determination of carcinogenic risks for control of the state of complex contamination in the megalopolis the territorial peculiarities of the carcinogenic risks for the health of population from real ambient air pollution and foodstuffs were studied. These foodstuffs make up a daily food intake. Performed work allowed to designate the input of aerogenic and peroral factors in the forming of population carcinogenic risks and to reveal the relation of inhalation and peroral component at a complex impact of the hazardous factors on the organism. Proposals for the use of the methodology for carcinogenic risk assessment in the activity of sanitary-and-epidemiologic service were formulated on the basis of the study. More informativeness of carcinogenic risk indices in comparison with MAC and MAL is demonstrated on the example of the hygienic assessment of the carcinogenic substances in ambient air and foodstuffs.
