Mashtaler V. Pharmacognostical study of Borago officinalis L. and creation substances on its basis.

The system pharmacognostical study of borage (Borago officinalis L.) herb and fruit was carried out for the first time. The morphological and anatomical structure of raw materials was studied. 16 compounds from herb and 10 compounds from fruit at the individual condition were isolated. The comparative analysis a qualitative composition and quantitative content of fatty acids of herb and fruit lipophilic fractions of borage was conducted and carotinoids sum content was determined. The chlorophyll sum content herb lipophylic fraction was determined too. The quantitative content of phenolic compounds, oxycinnamic acids sum, flavonoids, tannins, vitamins, organic acids, amino acids and elements were determinated in raw materials and extracts. Process-dependent parameters of raw materials were defined and technology production of herb thick extract was developed. It has been proved that herb thick extract showed antimicrobial and membrane stabilization activity and fruit thick extract showed antimicrobial action
