The subject of inquiry is the categories of traditions and intertextuality, which represent the peculiarities of I.S. Shmelyov's poetics. The aim is to find out the traditions and the intertextuality in I.S. Shmelyov's prose. The research methods are the intertextual analysis, comparative-typological and ihistorical-genetic. The results and novelty: the author's directions were found and they described the attitude to the traditions and the intertextuality.The field of application: the courses of the History of the Russian Literary, the writing course, baccalaureate and other scientific works.
