Maystruk T. English borrowings in the functional-stylistic types of the Ukrainian language at the end of the XXth -the beginning of the XXIst centuries.

The object is the English borrowings. The aim is to define the semantic groups and characteristics of anglicism function in the texts of publicistic, informational and scientific styles. The methods are descriptive, comparative, contextual, semantic and structural-component analysis. The author gives a complex analysis of semantic and functional-stylistic peculiarities of English vocabulary in the texts of publicistic, informational and scientific styles in the context of forming the lexical base of the Ukrainian language (late XX - early XXI centuries) and compares it to the norms of the modern literary language. The author picks out and characterizes the spectrum of English lexical units which possess specific peculiarities and demonstrate visible tendencies of becoming the lexical fund for publicistic, informational and scientific styles of speech at the turn of the XXth and the XXIst centuries.
