Thesis provides scientifically grounded methodology and structuring of the course "Geography of Continents and Oceans" in a secondary school. In the process of scientific research there has been carried out a systematic analysis of sources: books, theses, articles. Periodization of the development of this school course has been conducted by the theoretical analysis. The valid application of the course "Geography of Continents and Oceans" has been researched in detail , recommendations for its improvement have been developed, and the idea of the development of the course program based on curriculum has been suggested. In order to solve problems of systematization of knowledge of physical geography and to ensure the integrity of geographic education, the main foundations of science content have been analyzed, and the geographic knowledge has been sorted out and ranged into basic and advanced. The criteria for selection of educational material in geography of continents and oceans have been formed and the level of knowledge at the physical geography lessons has been investigated. Such notions as "motivation aim of the course" and "competency field" have been put to the scientific use. According to the results of the research the own methods of structuring and implementation of educational material of school course "Geography of continents and oceans" have been formed.
