Leonenko O. Fantasy genre in Ukrainian prose at the end of XX - the beginning of XXI century

Fantasy genre in Ukrainian prose at the end of XX - the beginning of XXI century is investigated in the dissertation, its characteristics and peculiarities of their transformation in contemporary prose are analysed. The works by G. Shton and G. Pahutyak are examined. The elements of mythologism and philosophism as the basis of the content of fantasy literature have been revealed. Special attention is attached to the phenomenon of psychologism as a way of penetration into the spiritual world of contemporary person. The specific of the realization the features of the western European fantasy in the prose of contemporary writers is considered. Different kinds of fantasy (mythological, mystical and philosophical, "heroic", gothic) are defined on the example of prose by G. Shton and G. Pahutyak. It is investigated how the means of psychology and mythology widen the expressing possibilities of Ukrainian fantasy.
