Sporysh Y. Life styles of the middle class in Ukraine (on a case of a big city)

The Dissertation is devoted to the specific lifestyle of the middle classes in Ukraine. The identity of the middle class is made on the basis that in this social group are concentrated unformalized and formalized knowledge. Both types of knowledge and skills of their using are proposed to be intellectual and cultural capital, which is the basis of resources that their middle class invested in social processes. Therefore, here is putted forward the hypothesis that middle-class life style is formed under the influence of need in recovery / development of intellectual and cultural capital. This hypothesis is confirmed empirically. Established that the middle class more often than representatives of other social groups, exercise steps to recover / develop the intellectual and cultural capital. The most significant differences observed in the planes "leisure", "work (employment)", "planning and making decisions in everyday life", "communication", "consumption expenditures".
