Essay

The research aims to improve the methods of liquid radioactive wastes management by decontamination via sorption removal on modified clay sorbents. The sorbents for radionuclides removal were first obtained by author via modification of bentonite clay. The characteristics of the modified bentonite as sorbent are the following: sorbents can be used for cleaning of radioactive wastes which contain up to 5 ppt Na+ and 1 ppt Ca+, surfactants, products of corrosion, Cs and Sr simultaniously. The research is completed with an engineering solution which is the flowchart for liquid radioactive waste treatment.
